What's Happening in the Library

Calling all books....

posted Apr 29, 2019, 2:03 PM by Nicole Gonzalez

As we come upon the end of the school year, it is time to start looking for those overdue Library books.  All books are due by May 10th.  After that, I will begin sending notices asking for payment for those books which are still outstanding.  If you have any questions, please call me at (602)896-6509. Did you know... your student can access their Library account anywhere by going to destiny.wesdschools.org and logging in using their student # (often referred to as their lunch #) as their user ID and their last name as the password.  They can view their Library account which shows their outstanding books (many with pictures of the book cover so you know what you're looking for). Again, feel free to contact me with any questions you have.

Ready. Set. Go.  The Scholastic Book Fair is coming next week, August 27th through August 31st.  We will be open after school until 3:15p.m. and during lunch recess (with teacher permission).  We accept cash and debit/credit cards exclusively.  Sorry, no checks.

Did you know the Book Fairs are the Library's primary source of funding for new books?
We depend on the money we raise to keep our collection fresh and up to date.

Hope to see you there!

Welcome Back Mustangs!

Welcome back Sweetwater Leaders!  I hope you had a WONDERFUL summer vacation!  This month we will be concentrating on getting reacquainted with the Library.  We will be discussing the expectations and also begin checking out Library books.  Please make sure you discuss book care to with your students.  Please remind your child that water bottles and Library books do not mix. If they carry a water bottle to school, please remind them not to put their Library book in the same pocket as their bottle.  If damage does occur to the book, please have your student bring the book to the Library as soon as possible so I can try and fix it right away.

The first book fair is going to the last week of August.  We hope to see you there!

I'm looking forward to a great year!

Wow! Time has just flown by, hasn't it?  It seems like just yesterday we were just starting back and now the end of the year is coming up so fast.  Please make sure to check with your students to see if they have any overdue Library books.  All overdue books need to be turned in right away because soon I will begin sending overdue notices home.  If a book is lost, a fine will be charged so we can replace it.  If you have any questions regarding overdue books or any other Library questions, feel free to call me at (602) 896-6509.
